FORD 5000 TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS

I have a '74 ford 5000 with an 8 forward and 2 reverse transmission. Yesterday I found that I could only shift from 1st to 3rd. The clutch is working but I could not shift to the right...2nd, 4th and reverse. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

The shift rails have become misaligned, you should be able to take the top plate with the shifter loose and lift it off, realign the shift rails and replace the top plate. I'm not familiar with the Ford 5000, but should be an easy fix.

Probably the shift handle or ball is worn allowing handle to slip out of notch in shift fork. As milkman stated just lift cover align forks and re-install cover.
