ford 3910 or MF 231?

still looking for a good used tractor in my price range. going to look these 2 this week. '84 ford 3910 diesel, p/s, good tires, hour meter 'shows' 1800 hrs. $6500 obo. the other is a '99 mf 231, diesel, p/s, excellent cond. 750 hrs. $6500 and he's firm. i'm tired of looking and will buy one of them if it's in good shape. the ford is more tractor but the massey is newer with less hours. i also don't have a massey dealer very close to me. any input would be on these would be appreciated.http://augusta.craiglist.org/grd/3851583294.html3884715763.html"]http://macon.craiglist.org/grd/3884715763.html[/URL]

also the massey is a private seller and the guy with ford buys and sells, but said he's had this one 5-6 years for personal use. the link didn't work.

I have a 3910, and it's a fantastic machine, incredibly well built. That series is generally considered the best Ford ever made. That said, I'm sure the Massey is a nice tractor, too. Assuming they're both in good condition, I don't think you can go wrong. Hours are much less important than overall condition.

Buy the Ford. It may have a few more hours but you have a better tractor.
