Just bought a Ford 3600 that has been sitting for some time.and wondering about the clutch.

It isn't completely stuck like most threads I see on stuck clutches. It will release if I start it in gear with the brakes held. I can push in on the clutch then release the brakes and the tractor will not move. However if I then let the clutch out and push it back in the clutch doesn't release till I apply the brakes. The PTO part works fine even without a load the PTO will start and stop just as it should.

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and hoping you will tell me it will work itself out after working it for a bit.

Maybe the driven disk doesn't move smoothly on its splines? An accurately applied wee bit of oil plus using it a bit will tell you if that's the cause. I hope there's an inspection port somewhere in the clutch housing.
