1974 Ford 3400
I bought it last weekend and I'm still trying to figure things out. Anyway, it is a 1974 3400 with loader. Today I learned that it has a dual clutch setup to support the 540 pto. I think the trans is called a 6/4 with the dual reverse.

The issue: Sometimes, usually when cold in 1st/low, when I depress the clutch it doesn't disengage until press the clutch as far as possible and hammer the brakes. Once warm, all seems well, the main clutch disengages at about the 3/4 mark. I've adjusted the clutch and have about 1.5-2" of free play.

Any suggestions?

I need to check/fill the cases as well. Are the level plugs the 2 square nut plugs on the right side?

Resolved. The weep hole was plugged and close to a quart of crap drained out. Seems to be getting better with time.

When not in use, keep the clutch pedal blocked down to keep the pressure plate off of the disc. Let it "dry" up. In fact its not a bad idea to block the clutch any time the tractor is not to be used for a period of time.
