Howdy Everyone-

First time on here. I have a gas Ford 3000 that is having starting issues. I replaced the ignition switch, points, condensor, coil, plugs and wires. The tractor turns but will not start. I have fuel. I'm currently having to hotwire the tractor (battery jumper to coil) to get it to run. Does anyone have any idea what my problem could be?

Does it perhaps have an open ballast resistor?

No, It doesn't look to have a ballast resistor.

are you getting 12v from the wire to the coil when the key is on? i would start there.

With the key on you should read twelve volts on one side of the coil. With the points open you should read twelve volts on both sides of the coil. When the points close you should continue to have twelve volts on one side of the coil but the other side should be zero.
