Yeah I think a operators manual would be a good buy. The tractor did come with a manual for a lot of ford models including the 1700. To be honest it's not a easy manual to understand. I'm not experienced with mechanical stuff, but the owners manual for my old 1975 Ford F-250 was way easier to understand. Maybe there is a more appropriate manual for my machine and conducting preventive maintenance.

yes I agree, not being a tractor expert the operator's manual really was helpful, the repair manual is pretty deep and kinda hard for me too. But I still wanted the repair also just in case.

Hey Charlie, seem's like you will not regret your buy, I just bought my 1710 4x4 FEL 1-2-17 I HUGELEY advise spending the money on a operater manual (really helps) and repair manual-----you will kick yourself wanting answers for what seem's like dumb question's-they are not dumb if you (& me) never owned a tractor before, I paid more than double what you did, but I'm likeing mine real well, GOOG LUCKView attachment 500888

That's a great looking tractor. Yeah the FEL add a bit to the price tag. I'd love to have one at some point down the road for my tractor.

Charlie I bought both off ebay-I want paper books for garage when I need something, the operators manual was only like $14. delivered ? Really helpful-about a lot of question's I had, good just looking thru it and I was impressed whoever put it together. the repair manual is pricey-$80-90 ??
But my thinking is one thing it helps me do it paid for itself easy....
