And just like a complete dummy, I forgot where the short and long plungers go. Do they go closer to the bolt holes or do the longer ones go closer to the bolt holes?

The long plungers go to the large discharge port on the rotor..
The discharge port is the one closest to the delivery valve end..

Put the pump together and no dice. The drops come out of the injection lines faster, but still no spray. If I take the banjo fittings off the pump head, there is a pretty strong shot of fuel out of the pump head distribution ports. Ideas?

I keep telling people, unless you know how to build a watch.. leave the pump repair to the professionals..
EVERY piece and part inside the pump housing has a job to do.. if u get ONE part wrong, your “watch” won’t work..

Facepalm moment 🤦‍♂️... I forgot the little screw that plugs the hole in the rotor under the vane pump... ugh...

Shoulda NEVER took it out.!!
U have to use a new gasket and a touch of thread locker..
And WAIT until it’s dry..before starting..
But seeing u already installed the pump, it’ll never dry.. so you’ll have to rely on the copper gasket to seal it..
Live and learn..

Well, the seal kit I got happens to have a new copper washer for that screw... Will throw it in.

Well, this thing is a pain in the butt. Yeah, I know you will say that i am the problem haha. Anyways, I put the pump back in, cracked the injection lines loose, fuel shoots out when cranking. I took the injectors out and hooked one up, when cranking it pops off and shoots fuel. When I put everything together, NO DICE. No white smoke. I loosened the lines up and cranked, it has fuel. Tighten them back up, no white smoke.

I know the engine cranks over fairly slow. Is there a minimum rpm at which the pump comes alive? It obviously spins over much faster with the injectors out.

If the cylinders are flooded with diesel, will it smoke a lot or not smoke at all?

Thanks

200 rpm’s minimum..at cranking.
That thing is like a WATCH..
1 wrong thing will throw off the whole works.
Now if u tell me your a watch repair man, I can work with that..
