Ford 1710
I just purchased a Ford 1710 (model AL3136). The bucket is extremely slow to raise/lower. The former owner said he had tried to pull a stump out and the hydraulics have not been the same since. I have never worked on any hydraulic systems before and would appreciate any direction on how to start to determine what failed.

Disconnect and reconnect you hyd hoses to the FEL. Sometimes they push apart under pressure just enough to slow them down.

Install a hyd gage and use it to trouble shoot and analyze your hyd problems.

The relief setting might need some adjusting.

Some of the cyl seals might be worn, or a valve spool.

I'll research and report back. Thanks for the help.

That was it!
As I traced the lines back from the FEL to the quick disconnects, one of the lines came off just by me wiggling it a tiny bit. I snapped it back in and now have full lift/descent on the FEL. It's still a bit sluggish and slow, but this is a 30 year old machine after all.

Thanks for the suggestions.
