Ford 1510 neutral safety switch

I have a 1510 that I believe has a bad neutral safety switch. I'm looking for a recommendation on how to best access this switch since it appears to be inside the transmission housing.

On both transmissions, the shift cover must be removed to access the switch under it.
On the synchro column shift, the range shift cover #42 and column shift shaft must be removed before the shift cover can be removed.
