So I ordered a Nissan Micra 1.2L pressure plate off eBay. I took my old pressure plate and clamped to the new one. Center punched, drilled, and filed to match. The other mod was to the diaphragm spring bore. I had to enlarge the center to match the stock bearing. Fabricated an alignment tool for the disc and replaced the fasteners will Allen heads and wavy washers, blue loctite for insurance. I have everything bolted together and it turns freely. Just discovered the roll pin to the actuator lever was fractured from past install (I hope). It moves with decent pressure when I put a pin in to test it. Wish me luck🤞

Well, that didn't work 😞 I had smoke and noise from the bell housing after initial start up. The clutch pedal kept getting softer without disengaging the disc. I had to remove safety switch and bracket to increase travel. At this point I obviously exceeded it's limits and the diaphragm spring appears to have failed. I am guessing there wasn't enough clearance between the bearing and the new plate. I will disassemble it again and post an update. I may try to go to the larger clutch and redrill the flywheel. I am still worried about the limited throw of the current clutch mechanism! Anyone done this before?

I did locate a new clutch for my Ford 1110 and replaced it last year. It was $430 I believe but worked great after I replaced it. I do like your idea, seems like it would work.

I got it from Weavers Compact Tractor. They had to custom make it.

I disassembled everything and found that the release bearing was in constant contact with the diaphragm as I suspected. What I discovered was the release shaft housing was inverted! This explains the lack of throw and the rubber boot being compressed. I polished everything up and it now operates as it should. Wish I had caught that before. I found another inexpensive 6-1/4" pressure plate on eBay, even cheaper this time($30) Obviously my bearing is toast again, but I am more hopeful this time around, stay tuned...

It rang a bell when you posted, it may not have been made to spec. Just saying

Maybe not and it wasnt cheap. It worked pretty good though.
I am currently waiting on my neighbor to remachine the Renault plate down. It completely inverted the diaphragm spring and wasn't as close as the Nissan one I tried.

Just curious about the Nissan pressure plate. Knowing what you know now about the throw out bearing being inverted do you think it would have actually worked. I need a new pressure plate for my 1100 but like you I cannot get one anywhere.
