ford 101 bottom plows

I just purchased a set of Ford 101 bottom plows at a auction and the first time I tried to use then one of the plows triped. What is the procedure for resetting the plw and is there an adjustment to keep this from happening for no reason?

Gotta know..... Is it a shearbolt model OR spring saftey trip?

Shearbolt; Remove old shear bolt. May be EASY, May take a prift punch and some effort.....Oh yeah... and a hammer. Replace shank, insert new bolt, (w/lock nut and don't excessively tighten bolt)

Spring saftey trip; Raise plow, allowing bottom to fal roughly into position. Set plow down on ground. Put tractor in reverse, back up while plow bottom drags slightly on the gground for just a few inches. That will lock tripped beam back into place........IF........If everything is working correctly in the reset portion of the saftey trip. Some older plows that have been sitting around MAY NOT always re-set.... Stuck parts....
