When cruising around the farm in the xuv835m Gator my throttle foot gets tired. I sure wished it had cruise control...is that a dealer add-on option?

I came up with this remedy. A plastic wedge used in conjunction with a chainsaw, sitting on a 2X6. This setup lets my foot set on something and using my tippy toes to press on the throttle. I can hold the throttle at a constant rpm now.

Any other ideas out there?

If there's not a model-specific cruise control you can adapt a generic one. Summit Racing has a bunch.

is the throttle return spring too stiff? Could you use a lighter spring tension?

I was thinking a heaver one would would let me rest my foot on the throttle rather than having to hold it up in order to go slow.

I made a 1.5 inch thick shim that I nailed on top of the 2x6 and that seams to be good enough for now.

I've noticed this with most ATVs too, except it's your hand that gets tired, not your foot. Don't know why they put such stiff return springs in them, maybe some gov't regulation to prevent runaway in the event of a sticky cable? Sure makes maintaining a constant speed a PITA.
Doesn't seem to be an issue with snowmobiles though.
