Nice work. I need to be doing the same thing, and wish I had a tiller. I have tried to think up enough reasons to buy one, but keep coming back to good chisel plow and weighted disc.
Back in June my buddy and I plowed and planted two or three acres of chufa for the turkeys next spring. We planted a small plot last year and the turkey go after it like cocaine. So this year we planted more. We got good rain, put out some 13-13-13 and the plants look much better than last year.
As to the deer foodplot, I need to get busy with a bushhog and chisel plow. Will put the seed in the ground about mid-September
