Is this true with other brands of connect under pressure?

As far I know, yes. But I'm not an expert on all brands.

This is my understanding, let me know if I seem to have something wrong.

If you have pressure on one side, and the coupler on the pressurized side allows you to connect under pressure, that pressure is safely transferred into the mating coupler when you connect the two halves together. If you have pressure on both sides, there is no way to release it, and the couplers cannot be connected.

The Parker 8200/9200 Series QD can be connected, with both sides under pressure.

Some of the others will connect up to 500 psi .

My bad. I thought you were only asking about flat-face couplers.

There are some other couplers that connect under pressure. Wet Line Couplers (wing-nut style) and 10,000 psi Screw Together Couplers (Enerpac C604 Interchange) will also connect under pressure, and I think they can all be connected with pressure on both sides.
