Flashlight

Yours took a week longer then mine, I think the lights get held up in Missouri, probably China thinks the US boarder stops at the Gateway Arch. :stirthepot:

We Missouri boys have to look them over to make sure you guys in Maine aren't getting junk. Your welcome.:) Oh, we check out the tailcap functions of each one too. :)

I still can't figure out how they are able to sell us a flashlight for $5 and mail it to us for free. I checked with USPS and to mail it back to China First Class package (the cheapest way) would cost $13.75.
I wonder if there is a way we can find out how much they pay for postage to mail it to us to determine how much they are actually selling it for?

It is hard to fathom how they can even make it for $5 let alone get it here.

These are likely made in 100K+ lot sizes and shipped via container. They also don't see taxes, healthcare costs, unemployment benefits, and bunch of other overhead, etc. like US companies do. For those of you working in a small US manufacturing company, you understand. Very hard to compete unless your product is special... like patent protected. Even then there are other me too's trying do it for cheaper.

They are individually mailed from China with the postmarks on them. I can only speculate that the Chinese have extremely low postal rates to other countries in order to subsidize their exports.

I did not read the whole thread, but know that there is a flood of LED flashlights now. A word of caution, if they use regular batteries (AA,AAA, C or D), do NOT use Kirkland (Costco brand) batteries. I started buying Costco batteries and they leak after some time, whether it is flashlights or other electronics. I am back to more expensive Duracell mostly now.
