Flail Mower Flail mower suggestions

I picked up a JD 4720 w/ 52 pto hp and would like to get a flail for it. Wood Maxx has an 8’ model that had my eye but I called yesterday and found out they won’t have more until next year. Well on Tuesday my landpride AT2684 finish mower had what I would call a catastrophic failure so i can’t really wait that long. I’d like something 8’ wide or better, just wondered if anyone knows of another brand to take a look at that I could have missed. I’d like to go with a flail to minimize rock launching, scalping, etc. my property is too rough for a zero turn, we tried that with an exmark and it didn’t go well.

Hello Harbin,

As for new flail mowers; the JD290(7 foot), JD390(8 foot cut), Vrisimo minimax in many sizes, Loftness flail mowers, Land Pride, and Genuine Maschio and Peruzzo flail mowers from Iowa Farm Equipment and many other brands.

If money is an issue I would look in tractor house for a used 25A or 290 or 390 first.

Another option would be to call Vrisimo in California and ask if they have any rebuilt used flail mowers for sale and if they have put anymore of their new flail mowers on sale.

Check the Lima-Findley Oh Craigslist for a 88" Land Pride flail. Put flail in the lawn and garden search box.

Thanks for the replies- I called a little too late for Vrismo, will try again Monday.

I’ll call about that Landpride in the morning too- that’s less than 3 hrs away!
