Sorry that's the solution. I have a 24-year old Ford 2120 compact, 1,600 hours. Last week I left my Alamo SHD88 (almost 1,000 lbs.) up in the air. Two days later it was nearly the height I left it at. Kubota should do better by you. I get it that they can't, or won't, but the product should be better, IMO. Jim

Too bad Kubota and the dealer can't/won't make it work like it's supposed to. If it was me I'd be concerned about the amount of bullstuff the dealer is shoveling. I realize that they have to say something other than "too bad" but I personally dislike that sort of thing. They should replace the valves. But other people have posted about problems with those Kubota valves leaking. They may just be lousy valves and replacing it with another lousy valve isn't going to fix it and they know it. If it was me I'd rather hear that than some made up explanation intended to snow me.

Don't you have three valves? Try swapping the tilt to the other open valve. Maybe it doesn't leak like the one you're using now does. If the other one leaks too I'd use the locking valve Aaron recommended earlier. You will lose float but it sounds like you are not using it. The advantage over the valve Leon suggested is that you don't have to remember to open or close it, it's automatic. The valve you're using may not even have float- it has to be spec'd when the valves are ordered.

Eric - Good ideas. I do plan on changing the hoses around soon as the tractor gets home seeing what happens. The dealer has installed the lock valve, saw it this afternoon, it will work ok for me. He did a good job explaining that most all the valves leak so not much he could do unless Kubota America will stand up for them. Hope others learn from this as maybe there are other places to buy these add-on valves that hold pressure? I take some blame here, not fully understanding what was involved and not asking the right questions but it's been my experience that Kubota sales folks know even less! All they knew to do was look up the parts in Kubota catalog and tell me the price, nothing about valves etc. being poor quality or otherwise...Buyer beware. One of our neighbors has two John Deere's telling me they are just as bad or worse and wishing he had bought Kubota, go figure...Having owned several Kubota products, they have been good in the past, just got into something a little over my head this time..

Are you referring to your tilt cylinder?
