I made my wife's cousin a fish fryer. He is a Mississippi State fan. Every year for July 4 he has a big fish fry. He borrows a guys fryer but it is a total POS. There is never any place to set things down. So I made him one!

It is a 58,000 BTU. I bought a fish fryer set from Academy Sports. (Academy - Outdoor Gourmet 1-Burner Propane Fish Fryer Set )I looked at buying all the parts and assembling but the kit was WAY cheaper and it came with the pot, strainer and lid. So I hacked up the factory kit and mainly used the burner and the round ring. He mainly need the table space to set things on. The MSU logo took four man hours to fab. I put the burner on the left side because he is right handed. That way as he adds and removes fish from the hot oil he is not reaching over the pot. It was a quick build and its not anything fancy, but in looking through the search engines for pictures I couldn't find many homemade fish fryers, so I thought I would share. I appreciate all the positive comments.
