I remember back in 1962 when Richard Nixon was campaigning in New Hampshire for President, he made a comment about Rock & Roll outside a movie theater that had been converted to a dance club for college students, making the same type of comment. Danny,
I'm always wearing glass lens glasses, with or without helmet. Flash will blind you for a short time, but you'll not have UV burns or pain in your eyes.

O.K.,,here is the best treatment if you get your eyes burnt,,,no lie,,get most of the way drunk,,,beer,wine,whisky,,it don't matter,,,than pass out.. You think I'm joking,right?,,,no,the only way you can get any sleep with burnt eyes is to be drunk,,,the best way for your eyes to heal,is to have your eyelids closed,,,uh huh,,,believe it,,or not.get up in the morning,got a hang over,,feel bad,,makes your eyes seem a little less,,wash them good,,put some very dark glasses on. thingy

That's what happened the only time I have ever had a weld burn. Sometime during the day when I was working on the deck of a shredder, the buttons came loose, or I might have undid them, and left a small triangle of exposed skin below the helmet. That puppy peeled for a week and HURT. Never again. I real careful now.

Just heard where one of the "apprentice" women got 'welders eye burn' from being at the beach all day and then being under hot TV lights all night.

I only ever got welders sunburn from actually WELDING! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
