JD 4200 HST
Hello
My name is Ken
I just bought a 2001 HST 4200 compact JD. Just under 1700 hours
I plan to use it for snow removal. I live in the Cascade mountains of Washington state.
Site looks very friendly. I am sure I will be visiting the forum a lot in the future.
I have already found a few items that need repairing.
I am a 25 year automotive technician. That said bloody knuckles are nothing new to me.
Parts however, Wow tractor parts are expensive compared to automotive parts.
If any one can suggest a parts supplier that would be helpful.
Thank you
Ken

Welcome Ken. Our 4200 has 1500 hours and the ony problem with it is the bushings and bearings on the FEL are worn out. For parts best bet is your local JD dealer.

Front End Loader. It makes your tractor an expensive wheelbarrow.

Welcome to TBN from the dry side of WA. Yes, parts are expensive - you would think they were being made for an airplane - based upon cost. As stated above, your best bet for parts that are designed for your tractor is a local JD dealer. Looks like we may be in for greater than average snow this winter - according to latest update from Old Farmers Almanac and long range wx forecasts.

DUH! boy do I feel stupid! Front end loader. It hit me as a was laying in bed last night. My brain was stuck on the front axle and the seal leaks i have to address before the snow flies.
I am normally not this slow. I would thought I would jet a couple of jabs here for that. ( maybe after I am here a while and you all get to know me)
Thanks for the welcome from every one!
Ken

Front end loader....if your tractor has one...and you are new to using one...the best advice I ever got was "low and slow" when moving loads in the bucket over anything but solid flat ground...

When moving loads always keep the center of gravity as low as possible...

Be safe and good luck with the tractor...
