Tractor
Kubota
This is my first time posting a forum, so this is a new experience for me. So here we go, I am looking to own my first Tractor. I have been researching and studying for the last 2 years trying to educate myself and find the best deal. Was considering and had my mind set on finding a used or potential purchasing a new John Deere 1025r. But I have recently found out a church friend is about to sell their Kubota Bx25. Not sure the exact year (2009 - 2012) but it has only approx 200 hours. It has loader and backhoe, but no mid mount mower. He is giving me the first chance to buy it and offering it to me for $10,000 which sounds like a more than fair offer to me from what I see searching online. There are no upgrades to the tractor and no implements included. He does have the 3 point hitch arms. It is a fairly clean nice looking tractor. Me and my wife currently rent a home from family and maintain small jobs on approx 5 acres. Family owns 40+ acres. Land has a variaty of terrain. Looking to maintain gravel road, cleaning chores around the yard. Nothing major comes to mind. But just looking for advice making sure I would be making a good decision if I pull the trigger. I uploaded a picture if that helps! Thanks in advance to anyone who provides some advice! 20200223_155621~2.jpeg

If you don't buy it, give me his phone number and I will. That's a steal.

The price of the new replacement model BX23S is now pushing $20K so that's half price. I love my 2011 BX25 and have 1500 hours on it and no major problems.

I've owned a few of these BXs with back hoe and a few without backhoe and several other Kubotas of different sizes and I say BUY IT!!!! Price is way low and knowing where it comes from is worth much money value. Let me know where it is if you don't buy it.

Yes, buy it. The BX25 is a great little machine. I have a 2009 with some 800 hrs. on it, and I would not let it go for $10K U.S. ($13K Canadian). Keep in mind as well that the new ones, now called BX23S, are quite a bit higher in price. Mine cost $18K Canadian back in the Fall of 2008, and now the BX23S is listing for $24,500 Canadian here in Ontario (minus whatever discount you can squeeze out of the dealer).

"18K Canadian back in the Fall of 2008" ....Plus that miserable 13%, commonly called HST..... for $2340 more?
No tax on private sales in the USA, and no tractor titles, or registration required either.

Thank you! All this advice has been very reassuring and has been greatly appreciated! I am going to talk to the seller as soon as possible, he still had a couple small things to do before he sales it. So I still have a little time before I have the chance to buy it as long as everything works out! Thanks again!

Consider putting money down on it and get a signed agreement to sell. Someone might catch wind of the deal and offer more.

Lucky for me I don't have to worry about that aspect being church family I have the first chance. He just has a couple more chores to do before he lets it go. Thanks for the advice!

Be careful!
Don't let it slip away!
I would steal it from you if I could.
It is a "smokin" deal!

Guess I did pretty good with my first 'used' purchase last spring. 18 for a 2004 M9000 Kubota, Hydraulic shuttle, FEL, SSQA attach with 2 buckets, delivered to the farm, from a JD dealer no less.

It is likely that most JD dealers do not like having used orange (2004 = Mary Kay pink?) tractors sitting on their lots.
They want to sell NEW JDs!

I sold my 1998 L2900 Kubota a couple of years ago for $14k, they really hold their value. Very trouble free machine.
