First Time Tractor Purchase TYM? or something else?

I like TYM for the most part. I've even considered one. My biggest issue with them is their use of cable actuated loader valves. Just seems like a recipe for trouble.

If I ever expand and get a larger machine, I think I'm going with a Kioti DK.

You're exactly right which is why in hindsight I have learned that you have to narrow the choices down as soon as possible. The easiest way to achieve that is by looking at who your local dealers are and then eliminating any brands that are not local to you. The next phase is to determine what your needs are and then narrowing the classes down to the size that best fits your needs. Once you reach that phase then you can get the spreadsheets going and compare all the manufacturers in your local area that make a tractor in that same class and go from there. Process of elimination is the name of the game with this stuff.
I disagree!

Don’t eliminate because of distance unless it’s an unreasonable distance.
Many folks are very happy with purchases of tractors purchased at dealers that are farther then thier local dealers.
I for one would be very dissatisfied if I had to purchase a kubota because it was close. My neighbor has the exact tractor that I would have purchased and when driving it, I am not very impressed and uncomfortable. So even if my Kioti dealer was 100 miles away I would have missed out on a tractor I liked and am happy with had I only shopped local.

LOL Facebook, Now there's a great source of info.
Believe it or not FB groups are becoming a very valuable source of perspective and information. You can get a pretty good birds eye view of how well a brand is performing overall with customers and their satisfaction level. I really enjoy TBN and how we all dive very deep in these discussions but sometimes that works against the collective perspective. A lot of the discussions on here turn into debates and though that has it's own merits it can also complicate a rather simple discussion. On FB groups members can not get long winded and go on and on for days, weeks and years about a topic. You have to keep it short and sweet.

The most important thing, does the dealer/manufacturer have a fix and stand behind their machine. Kubota basically screwed many owners of their B3350 and only offered to cover their bad engineering after 6 years and earning deservedly bad rep for that model.
It's ironic that you are bringing this up about Kubota because it was just yesterday that I made the discovery that Kubota manufactured that tractor for 7 years before they finally pulled the plug on it. Why would a manufacturer continue to produce a defective product and sell it to customers for 7 years when it became obvious they had a major problem with it within the first year of production?

Prometheus this came up in my YT news feed today and it totally speaks to everything I was explaining to you. I think you should watch this. I know this guy personally and think he a great resource for information.

More folks use the FB tractor specific groups, than actively use the TBN groups. Just saying.
Which is why I joined them. The tractor specific threads here, are very lightly used.

More folks drink Budweiser than Shiner. They are wrong, too.

Once it became clear that Facebook was not a digital forum, but a political organization, I stopped using their service. It is one thing to have terms of service that focus discussions on some topics, but not others. Quite another to censor some political speech, but not all.

I will also disagree with the short answer not confusing things. It is the in depth look that covers all perspectives and gives a real foundation for decision making!
Only having one or two parts of the information needed when there are 100 pieces to the puzzle will most likely lead to poor decision making and misinformation. It leads to buyers remorse more often than not.

It is also the debate that shows anyone who is capeable of actually thing for themselves, that there are both advantages and disadvantages, more than one way to accomplish things. Sometimes it gives insight itnto themselves when they recognize those who may think more like them or have more similar circumstances that are seemingly happy going opposite the crowd.

One line answers usually lead to bad decisions.

What do you consider an unreasonable distance?
That is for each person to answer on thier own terms as we all have different circumstances.
For me, I would have preferred to drive 2000 miles to buy my Kioti than be stuck purchasing an other Deere or Kubota product that didn’t check all the boxes on my list.
Fortunately I didn’t have to go farther for the Kioti, they are actually closer but it would not have mattered.

With how Facebook censors thier posts, they would delete any post that suggests you buy anything other than a Futon tractor.
They don’t support free thought, free speech or a free society.
They want to dumb down the population and limit our ability for critical thinking.
Not my cup of tea !
