First oil change

Going on 8 hours on my new x580. Wondering about the first oil change. Stick with conventional oil or go with synthetic. I plan on synthetic after the second, T6 15-40 Rotella. I will be blowing snow in the winter.

Stay mineral for this one to aid running-in. Maybe go synthetic whenever you want to after that. (Remember JD don't specify synthetic oil at all.)

I saw that and Will wait until 50 hrs to switch over. I am still on the fence about syn. May just Stay Dino oil.

For my new X584 first oil change, I used the JD oil that came in the JD maintenance kit. I'll likely switch over to Mobil 1 synthetic with the next oil change. As long as you use the appropriate oil viscosity, you can use conventional or synthetic.

Same here for my D110 for the first 50hr change. I think I did it again for the 100hr (the kit) but after that I've bought generic filter/oil from my local auto-parts shop.

The kit was convenient and included the in-line fuel filter & spare spark-plug... now I've got spares!
