Getting ready for the first oil change (8 hours) on my 2016 X590. A small strap filter wrench will not work. Not enough room to get any leverage. If it is like any other factory oil filter that I have attempted to remove, the filter is going to be on darn tight. (That's why I always have the dealer do the first oil change on my trucks. If they mess up, it's the problem not mine.) Any suggestions for a problem free removal of this filter? Any wrenches made just for this tractor?

I had difficulty doing the same on my new X584. Not much room to turn a strap wrench.

I use a large channel lock wrench to remove.. hand tighten tho.
I just did the first oil change on my x590. I picked up the oil filter wrench from my John Deere dealer before performing the oil change as I had read many stories of difficulties removing the filter. The oil change went smoothly with the wrench.
This is one I use- it's cheap and filter comes off easily.
OK, thanks for the suggestions. I have the the Deere wrench. Is it necessary remove the side panel to get at the filter and remove it completely. It's a tight fit. If you remove the panel, how? It appears that there is only one screw attaching the panel to the frame.

I'm a big fan of this type of filter wrench. It's geared inside so as you turn counter clockwise the teeth bite in. One size fits all.
