First mod to my 2210

Earlier this winter I realized that I couldnt' see backing up in the dark plowing snow. So a trip to the Fleetfarm store to get a utility light. simply plugged er into the connection in the back and fished a wire up the ROPS. used the existing signal light mounting bolt. see pic. Once the light was installed it stopped snowing so I dont know how it works yet. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

<font color="green">Megotractor, Did the connector that came with the light fit the connection in the back of the tractor or did you have to use some sort of creative means to make the connection?

I used a standard male spade connector with a length of shrink tubing to cover and seal it.

JD, is there a problem with the outboard signal lights? I had a few low branches grab at them lights when I first got the tractor but that was solved with a pruning saw and a little driving experience. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I kept having to tighten the bolts holding my lights in place and finally had to replace one of them, at $56. The parts lady suggested moving them inside. You have to swap sides with them. Did so. No loose or broken lights since.

I did what Ralph described for the same reason. As I understand it, Deere sets them on the outside to comply with the SMV standard which has a spacing requirement. They do look close together inside, but they're a lot safer! BTW, I understand Deere now offers a protective cage for the lights. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Think I swapped sides to keep them oriented the same. Don't remember the details now.

The lenses have different colors (red, yellow, and white) to keep the orrientation the same, you need to reverse the mountings. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

<font color="green">I moved my lights on my 2210 to the inside but didn't have to swap them. The red lens just ends up on the bottom but still on the left side of the tractor.

You really don't want the red lens to end up on the right side if you drive the tractor on the road at night. Unless of course you are driving on a road in England or Australia. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Looks Good. crazylare1 has somthing similer to that on the 3320 here at the house. There are two of them facing the front and one in the rear. We have found out that they don't shine very far.
