Brad why did you go with the x530 over the x540?

I just didn't see enough benefit in the liquid cooling to spend the extra $800. Maybe it makes sense for somebody who does a lot of heavy duty use and puts on lots of hours, but for my limited snowblowing and lawn mowing the simplicity of air cooling was my choice. And the $800 saved paid for my cab.

I also considered the 534 until I drove a 530 and saw the nice tight turning radius on the 530. So then I also elected for simplicity (less things to break) and stayed with the 530. So far no regrets!

I think you have to go to the 700 series for 4WD. Would be nice, except for the cost. If tire chains, 170 lbs of hitch weights and traction control aren't enough then I'll just stay inside and watch TV until spring. I'm also not dealing with any steep hills or playing in the mud where 4WD would really help.

So nice, but not needed for my particular use.

The x700s are overkill for many. The simplicity of the x530 with the features it has makes it an attractive machine.

10-4 that. Since I bought my X530 I don't cut nearly as long as I used to or as much. I plan on paying mine off after I get my tax return.:cool2: I'm not cutting grass but still making payments.

bradkramer - where did you get that cab? That looks like a nice set up. Better than the 3 sided "enclosure" JD offers for the X530. What did you pay for the cab?

Am considering getting a blower for this winter . I just have gravel and dirt laneways to contend with any trouble with a blower with these conditions whereby if the gravel is loose will the blower suck it up or can you just put the pads down a bit? Thanks nice setup

There's quite a bit on here about this subject. If you search for "gravel snowblower" you'll get a ton of hits and lots of ideas. In general, you will find lots of people using a snowblower on gravel successfully. Some pack it down a bit before using a blower. Some use wheels or larger skids. You'll no doubt find something that will work. Good luck!
