First day of blowing with X530

How did you manage to get that chute deflector setup? I been trying to get one from my JD dealer (1 man show and he cannot handle it) for a year now. Every stinking time I call or stop in (about 10 times in last year) he tells me he will order me one but never has one for me but insists they are available. He actually promised me one because I traded him the brush guard standard on my X728SE for it, he sold that and I don't have to chute deflector kit.

I called two other JD dealers and got nowhere with the parts staff. One did not know what I was talking about and another said, those were discontinued years ago.

I have a 2010 X728 w/47 JD 2-stage blower.

Tired of the run around

Probably not much time savings since my Craftsman had a 42" blower. But it'll sure save wear & tear on ME. The old tractor had a heavy manual lift and was really hard to steer with the blower weight up front. Part of the reason for getting the JD was to make it easy for my wife to blow snow since I'm out of town a lot. Yes, I bought it for her. Really.

I bought the x530 for the wife as well, but for mowing only. Unfortunately, we have 100 yards of LAWN to walk through to get to our cars, and since it's sloped, I think my wife would get stuck quickly when blowing - the ground isn't always frozen underneath. She's pretty good at running the walk behind snowblower - like you, I travel, so she has to know how to take care of herself. I use my Kubota for snow when I'm home, but luckily she's terrified to use it with the loader, so we don't have to cross that bridge of my saying "no".

I bought the x530 just in case we move to a place with a normal driveway and sidewalk - I'd love to set up our x530 like yours.

bradkramer - where did you get that cab? That looks like a nice set up. Better than the 3 sided "enclosure" JD offers for the X530. What did you pay for the cab?

I like the looks of that cab too. Looks like it would fit my x534.
I'd like some heat too but a pair of Carhartt insulated coveralls
works OK for the little bit I have to clear. Only takes me a half hour
with the 47" blower, on my old JD with a 48" blade I would be at it for an hour or more depending on the depth of the snow.
