Several, all used and abused.
I have an old Kiddie home fire extinguisher in my dozer that I've never used, but thought it was a good idea to have one when working around the burn pile.

Last weekend, I lit my burn pile and kept an eye on it in my new cabbed tractor. I thought I saw some ash float down on top of my fuel tank, which caused me to think how dangerous that could be. I never found the piece of ash, but it got me to thinking that if my tractor caught on fire, what would I do?

Any fire extinguisher is better then nothing. But I'm wondering if there is something specific that I should look for to put out a fire on a tractor full of hydraulic oil?

I'm also curious where to mount it?

Thank you

I keep a small ABC extinguisher laying in the cab of my tractor.
Flying embers are not going to ignite hydraulic fluid or diesel, but it's always best to be prepared.
I think the best fire prevention is keeping a tractor clean of oil, diesel, and vegetation debris.

A decent small auto/marine extinguisher will give peace of mind. Any one would be better than what I have on mine now, which is nothing. Mounting spot - roll bar; or for a cab - somewhere handy but out of the way...

ABC extinguishers on my mowing rig - 2 because if you need 1 you might need 2 and what if 1 fails?

I've had flying ambers lite diesel. So be aware. (y)

I would like to get a mount for one of my big water extinguishers for my Toolcat. I'm not sure where I could mount it though.

I learned the hard way the small extinguishers don’t last long. 6-8 seconds? I now have more handy and a couple of larger ones.

Real good example scootr! I tried to enlarge to see the mounts better but no luck. Can you explain what type of mount that is and where you got it please? I'd like to copy your idea cause it'll make me feel safer out in the field. It "looks" like a fitted holster style with "perhaps" Velcro straps? I'm probably way off base but that's a holder I'd like to find. Thanks, Greg

Looks good

My trouble with fire extinguishers is the mounting device I don’t think they will stand up to long term use on a tractor (bouncing) and to UV rays.
