Finished cutting and drilling stainless posts

Took some photos today after completing cutting and drilling of Stainless 304 tube for trellis posts in vineyard.

As this was the third time of doing this in the last 6 years and I still have difficulty remembering how to set up the equipment, I decided to save some photos and share them with you as well.

Never heard of using stainless steel for posts before. I guess it's worth the extra upfront expense to have something that won't rust out over the years?

Will you be installing them in the vineyard too?

Good ides cutting stainless with a chop saw. After several cuts the stainless made my bandsaw teeth vanish !

About half are already in this year's planting of 1.5Ha (about 3.7 acres) of Albarino.





Those pictured in the stillages will be used in a year or two.

I hope they last forever, a guy who works at a local winery tells me that when used to store water, stainless tanks can develop hairline cracks.

I've had some in the ground since Oct 02 and to date there's no evidence of deterioration.

I had a bandsaw once - even on mild steel it had a penchant for sawing crooked. It sits unused somwhere in the shed.

Don't like the dust and smell from cut-off wheels but at least when they're worn out or occasionally damaged it's only a few dollar to replace the wheel.

My bandsaw does the exact same thing it is a Pain.
