Rear Finish Mower Finish mower, rear vs. side discharge

/ Finish mower, rear vs. side discharge #11
I may be a little late in this post but here goes anyway. I mow aprox 5 acres with a rear discharge Bush Hog and experience tell me that dry grass does not clump as bad and with the rear chain guards removed it looks as good as any riding mower. No clumps no wind rows.

How high do you have your cut height set?

One thing I've found that helps any mower is to clean the underside thoroughly and then spray on a couple coats of EZ Slide, which is a slick coating we used on the farm for gravity box wagons. I'm sure there's an equivalent at your local farm supply store. At any rate, it helps keep the wet grass from sticking to the underside of the mower deck.
