This week-end I finally got to use the tractor for one of the projects I bought it for, final grading of my property on the mountain. I bought a 5' King Kutter box blade at TSC on Friday and got to work on Saturday. I had never used a box blade before, but after reading tons of how to info on TBN, the experience went well.:)

The first area I worked on is the drive to get to my woodshed. My property is a virtual rock farm, so I did have to stop often and sort out the larger rocks. (See photo 1633)

All and all the experience went well right up until the left front wheel came off the tractor today. But that's another story.

Nice results for the first day!!!

Make sure you experiment with adjusting the top link, it makes a big difference in the results. You do not want the rear blade up off the ground. Having two blades contacting the ground gives you double results for making one pass. In a couple of the pix, the rear looks too high.

Maintaining your road will be a snap now.

Angle it downward to one side and you can create ditches. Small roots are no match for the tines if fully lowered.

;) Please don't tell me you had to get your wife to come sit on the rear fender

At least if you did, please tell me that you did not let her see the pictures on TBN :D

Thanks for the advice Lewis. I spent Saturday experimenting with the scarifiers and planned to experiment with the top link Sunday, then the wheel fell off. Now I'm done until I can locate a new wheel!:(
