Snow Finally, some snow!

Hi all:

Yes I have the standard woods blade feel like about 300#hand swinging it. Think the concrete is the answer why I don't have a ridge maybe 1 side of blade might be a little lighter but it can't dig into street/drive. In air and angled 1 side is higher. Think as suggested will keep doing what I'm doing or maybe even throw some weights over top of blade and see how goes can't hurt as trial.

300 lbs. sounds about right, given the heavy-duty quality of Woods stuff. My blade is an el-cheapo KK standard blade, and it weighs a hefty 250 lbs. With 300 lbs. I can't see the need for weights in order to push snow around. Without weights on my blade, I re-graded the gravel driveway twice last year.

Plowed five driveways in my neighbor hood before noon today. Never hurts to be neighborly. Went to three of my favorite neighbors' houses and, on the way back, saw a new neighbor (age 80) struggling with a shovel. Needless to say, I have a new friend. Not enough "being neighborly" in the world today in my opinion.

I've got an older 6' blade. Not sure who made it. You should be able to see the round wheel on the blade. The blade tilt can be adjusted so it sits flat as needed when angled or straight.

Okay, thanks for the photo. That helps alot. Do you find the solution stable? It looks to me like the chain could come undone at the hook end with all the shaking around my blade does?

now I see the benefit of the tilt feature even for just removing snow. After reading the posts in this thread I experimented with the top link on my B7800 and now have it longer as it keeps my 6 foot KK rear blade more level.

No problem yet, as we have had no snow in sunny southern Indiana this year. I left the chains a little long, and think the weight will help hold them in place. If not a little tape should do the trick.
