The computer monitor where I'm at makes everything look like pictures were taken at 4AM, no flash used. I can't see enough to really tell, but SHADOW I'm seeing looks nice and straight. That's always a good sign.

If the weather holds, I'm dragging the Jubilee home this coming weekend. (To where it will sit for another 5 years.....)

I'm not sure why the image darkened soo much. it was taken with good light and a flash. in fact my other pics weren't useable due to flash glares from the license tag on the trailer .. etc. When i re-sized the pic.. it lost alot of gama....

I'll post more later.

Tin is 95% straight. Has a missing grill.. but the prev owner put some expanded metal in.

The image quality looks OK on my monitor and the tractor looks great! Is that a shine to the paint? Time for a tractor family picture, isn't it?

Neato tractor. A nice addition to your collection.

Can't tell from the photo if it's diesel or gas.

Judging from the Blue Book, it looks like a $3500-4000 investment.

Wish there were a few nice looking tractors like this one in my neck of the woods. All I find for sale around here are tractors that have been used and abused.

That up and down 5 sp is the best transmission I've ever used.3rd and reverse, you can't beat them. After using your 661 w/loader this one is going to be a horse. The old 800 series had more HP per pound than any tractor I've ever used. Yours looks pretty good, but the rear tires won't last long, you'll find they spin a lot, since the engine won't stall. At first i thought it was overspray too ( tire spray, painted wires, belts and hoses are a real turn off when i go look at a tractor ). i was glad to find that it is limerock powder. The rural road where this tractor lived is a limerock road ( yep.. I live int he deep south.. not all our roads are black yet... ).

Also.. no painted hoses wires, or belts.

172ci gas, and the blue book is pretty much right on target.

Yep.. almost like a poor mans 'shuttle shift' with the 3rd/rev up there.

Yep.. the only thing i loose is live pto on the 850, vs the 660.. and I don't plan to ever have a pto implement on it anyway.. I plan to put a concrete counterweight back there .. so that's a moot point.

The 6xx and 8xx were upgraded to the 2000/4000 for 63 and 64.. same tractor virtually. Then in 65 they went to the 3 cyl engines. So.. essentially.. I have the equivalent of an early 4000.. that's a fairly hefty beast. And Yes.. the extra hp will be nice. The 660 can just start to spin and lug down under a heavy load.. but I suspect the 850 will 'bark' the tires in that same case. The extra heavy rear drivline will be extra piece of mind when moving round hay bales. I've done it with the 660 .. but I'm afraid it's all she can take to just lift them.. limp over to the cattle lot, and then drop em over the fence..

I've always been critical of painted hoses, but I recall my Deere 2440 and 4250, The Massey 150, and I seem to recall the Ford 3000 and 5000 having painted radiator hoses when they were delivered new. I've got boxes of sales literature on the Massey. All the pictures show "Flint Grey Metallic" hoses.

Funny you should mention that. I have seen a pic of a tractor made for overseas use.. it was made out of a ford 5000, and was a crawler... there was a row of them.. and i do believe they all had ford blue radiator hoses!

That looks like a real nice tractor there Soundguy.

I was wondering if the 850's came with the screw adjustment rear wheels standard or as an accessory or were they available on the later XX1 tractors only?

Are you gonna put that one-arm loader on it or are you gonna get a different one?

For sure, I'm putting the loader on it.

I thinkt he power adjust rear rims were an option.. as well as duals.
