robertm,
lost my proverbial cherry (errr-orange) today, as i cut for 2.5 hours on my new bx2360. awsome, flat out awesome . . . and drop dead gorgeous!
i found the quality of cut to be super. drove effortlessly with the power steering. the right handrail and bottom rear of the rops gave me additional support and comfort. the bx is a total package type tractor, as i also bought the loader and the front blade for snow . . . it will be a year round use machine.
as you all are reading this on friday, i hopefully will be on my way to get the ez lanscaper attachment for the fel and price out some other attachments.
i am a bx believer (monkees 1970's?) but it truly, is one helluva tractor. hope the crayola line gave you a chuckle . . . i actually miss fired by starting off with a bx1850.

korydz, I may just heed your call, as well as many others, just for the sake of shutting myself up and sparing all of you nice folks my griping. Hey, you only live once, right? I'm not losing anything except ground clearance, a little 3pt lift, and some money I was going to spend on an additional dedicated mower anyway.

robertm, don't be shy about contacting me once you get yours. I'm short on years of experience, but I learned a ton about tractors in general and especially mine and what works well with it over the past year. Let us know when you bring it home.

Thanks to all.

Korydz, I may tak eyou up on your offer. After all these years of thinking I should have, I think I will find out tomorrow (actually Saturday) if I was right... or wrong. Actually, I doubt I can go wrong either way.

Shrekbelly, I didn't know you started with an 1850. I started with a B7500, then for financial reasons went with this B7510. All along, I was interested in the BX, but I always had a nasty habit of going bigger "just in case". All though the B isn't really all that "bigger", I think the BX will be the perfect fit for my uses. Now, if I can just find a nice tiller for the BX and I'll be off and running.

Thanks again.

I have just under 2 acres. It is mostly grass with some bordering pines. I have about 100 foot of gravel drive (second drive for travel trailer storage only - minimum maintenance). I mow the yard with the B7510 60" MMM.

I've got over 5 acres and I really wanted the B-series as I think it really looks cool and would put spanking on the neighbors Blue one. The bx series really fits the need better. I really do not cut that much grass as I am mostly woodedand have a small mower deck, but no bog down in any rediculas grass height that I have tried to cut. It would have really Kicked A** in this area if it was called to task with a larger deck. I also have alot of woods and this will sneak into so many places making the loader very handy. The extra power of the PTO on the BX2660 is very noticeable. Neighbor has larger frame size Blue tractor, but I have more PTO power and we can tell when we are using my rear Chipper. It's all good as his tractor has some big tire advantages on some other applications, but on my property that is not needed. Very happy with my decision to stay with a BX series. Get it and enjoy yours.

As I was corrected, I meant downsize. This whole downsizing thing started over five years ago when I found the B's ground contact mower didn't provide much forgiveness on my "bumpier" lawn, but moreover, the front turf tires cut circles around all my trees regardless of what I did to prevent it. I tried different tires, but neither worked.

Now, I have a son who will be mowing next year, and I started looking for a dedicated mower, but after seeing what they go for used, I could wrap it all into a BX for minimally more, and have one great tractor for all needs with basically compromising ground clearance, which I don't need anyway. Then , cut the maintenance costs and storage loss from another machine, and the scale tips farther.

Visibility and comfort alone are a couple major incentives for my wife and son to use the BX. Although I doubt she'll ever rush out to mow with the BX, my wife sat on one tonight and agreed the BX was more comfortable than my B, but the comfort is the "feeling" she gets sitting on it, not the seat cushion. She could see around the BX because it sat lower and the loader subframe wasn't blocking her view of the "road" like the ones on my B.

I mow 75%, remove snow 10%, and use the FEL for the last 15%. Certainly the BX has more than enough capability for my needs. I am banking on the BX being easier on my lawn, providing a better lawn cut because of the suspended deck, being easier to maneuver around the yard, being easier to maintain (the deck is much easier to remove than the B), being more adequately sized to my needs and yard (as well as the in-laws yard in town), and being a better choice for the son when he starts mowing soon (and the wife, if she does as well).

Perfect! you have answered all your concerns and they point to go for it! Good luck and post up some pics when you get it! :D

As I have read through the posts the one item that you bring up often is mowing and lawn damage. Makes me wonder if you could not arrange a test mow at your house to see if the BX does do less damage on the lawn. If not,,,well,,,you lose much of the incentive for the trade.

Or at least do a couple of tight turns on the dealer's grass. B's, and BX's tend to cut with the front tires, my Simplicity cuts with the rears.

My BX will cut with the front tires, but only in four wheel drive. I have a pretty steep hill I mow, and when I get to the bottom and turn tight that is when its a problem. It will also cut some at the top of the hill when I turn hard left and my rear tires are still on the hill. If I'm carefull and don't turn tight, that will limit the damage. I could fly up and down that hill, but that is when it tears up the turf. If I go slow on the turns, that helps alot. The house is at the top of the hill and a gully at the bottom of the hill so I don't have a choice but to turn. This is much better than what I had before with a regular riding mower, which would slip and slide and be dangerous at times.

On faairly flat ground out of 4 wheel drive, I've never had a problem with grass damage. One thing to keep in mind, while a BX is a very small tractor, compared to a cheaper riding mower, it is still large and heavy. You are going to get a little compression on your lawn from the tires compared to a rider. That said, I would be shocked if you were disapointed with a BX. I agree, if you could try one out for about 10 minutes, you will probably know right away if you like it or not. I tried mine out, before I let the delivery guy leave, on my hill, and it felt like a Cat D8 going up that hill compared to what I was used to. I am willing to settle for any small faults the BX has a mower for all the other things it will do that a riding mower won't.

Ah, the heck with it! Done. Sick of over analyzing it. Sometimes you just gotta jump. If the dealer has it ready, I'll pick it up tomorrow morning. Oh God... here I go. H-E-L-P.

My BXx23 and the 2 BX1500s are just rite for my 2.33 acres.

]

Let me see if I can get this right as I might have been doing this all wrong. I have only 1 BX tractor on my 5.33 acres. In LBrown59 tractor math I should have 6.8626 BX's to be as happy as he is and properly support and maintain my property...............

yo, tim-

let us not disparage one of the near legends of our forum. lb59 is in a class and world of his own. i know the math on his tractors is sometimes fuzzy, but, "a man has got to do, what a man has got to do."
i have a two week old bx2360 and a world of work to complete in he future with it. so, as i vigilently read the posts on this forum, i owe you a huge thank you (to you and old lb) as i'm thinking of calling forth, for a kubota rodeo, of our loyal kubota brotheren at my property to start putting a dent into my very big property renovation. i'm not great on the bx yet . . however, i'm
accomplished on the barbecue grill, my speciality is steaks and oversized potatoes, oh . . . i and i forgot include, beer!
the next entries belong to you, and of course, lb59

The post was in no way meant to disparage LB59. My post was meant to be light hearted. I found humor in it. I seriously feel that he is one happy camper with all of his tractors and that he would definitely make for a fun neighbor.

Now back to that Rodeo...

JohnThomas -- you don't even give a guy much time to get pictures do you ;)

BTW, aren't you due to trade in on another tractor
Just kidding. I only had my first tractor for about 2 months (a gear drive B7100) before trading up to a hydro-static B7100, and now, 11 months later, I'm eying up larger B's (B2100, B2400, B2150) for the added rear-lift capability. It is a disease; it is just that your case is more progressed :D

Happy tractoring!

Actually I spent a bit of time talking to Steve Barlow about a trade last week:D when I bought the post hole digger. He's supposed to be getting figures together. I also believe I've sold a BX2360 for him to my nephew if he arrives at a reasonable trade for me.:) If he doesn't I'll call Brady and deal with him.:)
