I have the hydrostat 1502. Need filters all around. Anybody have the numbers for air, oil, hydraulic and tranny filters? thanks to all,

Len Schaefer and Schaefer Town and Country gives far,far more to this site than he takes, he deserves more respect than this!
BTW, a week ago your 1502/152 was bleeding antifreeze out the engine block about as fast as you put it in, what became of that?

Agreed. I understand he didn't answer what you were looking for when he didn't give the filter numbers, but nobody is under any obligation here to provide you, or me, or anybody else with any information. He may be an advertiser or not, and it's ok to want to support the advertisers on the forum than those who are not, too. Sometimes things come across differently on the other end than they are intended.

Especially with the non-Yanmar grey market machines, it can be hard to come by information and parts. I'm not in charge of anything, especially this forum, and my view is just my own. But there's no reason for any of us to speak crossly in something like this, the way I see it.

Lens12 may not have had the part numbers when he posted that he can source filters, and just wanted to get the fact out there that he can get them. I don't know. Msjanket may not have meant to sound as harsh as he seemed. We can still be civil and polite, or at least try. :thumbsup:

How was my explanation pathetic? I wasn't taking sides, I gave a possible justification for lens12 not immediately posting part numbers, and for you sounding snippy. I fail to see how that makes my post, and by inference, me, childish.

Having said that, he DID post filter numbers. What else are you wanting?

I understand being bothered if a person uses another's paid venue to advertise without paying their own dues. I don't know if that's the case with Sheaffer or not. I know he gives others advice based on extensive experience and is a useful source of information on tractors that can be tough to learn anything about. He may a horrible human being, or a great one. I don't know. He's been a member of this board over 11 years though, and has posted over 1300 times. Duration as a member and number of posts does not give one license to ignore rules, manners, or protocol, but it would seem to indicate that he's not doing anything way out of line: his second post here, over a decade ago, was advertising for something he can supply.

I would suggest calling another poster's contribution pathetic and unacceptable to an adult is more out of line than interspersing advice with an observation that he can sell you parts.

From what I read here, it was not Len Shaeffer with the attitude. I have used his services and found them quite satisfactory. Now, about that ignore feature....

You're not being accurate in your characterization of him as one who would "play coy" if that's what you are talking about. You asked for filter numbers, and he gave them. The hydraulic filters are going to be the tough ones, because a trip to the Wix filters website yielded these results for filters:

It's possible those need to be sourced from more specialized sources, because Wix didn't list any of them available or as competitor's cross referenced part numbers, either. More specialized, that is, in the form of someone who has them in-stock on his shelf and knows what goes with what machine.

In your other post about filters, Old Farm Kid said he uses Fram filters : "Oil PH3593A Air CAK530." Those both cross reference back to the Wix filters, but you're still needing the other three for the hydraulic system. We know it is three because lens12 posted the part numbers.

I understand wanting to support approved sponsors of the website and not those who would use it as a free venue to advertise.

You still haven't justified your statement that I posted something that was pathetic and unacceptable to an adult. I still don't understand where that came from, why it was relevant, or why you haven't addressed it more clearly.

I don't think you understand my question. What was so pathetic and unacceptable about what I said? I try to give good advice and be responsible, ethical, and polite. You seemed to have an issue with what I said, how I said it, or both. How can I do a better job communicating and not upset other members of the forum?

Clearly you didn't like my post, but I'm trying to figure out why. You seem to be dancing elliptically around that, trying to imply my feelings have been hurt. My feeling aren't hurt at all; I don't think I did anything wrong. I'm trying to include YOUR feelings in my future correspondence here. If I've been other than decent, I'd like to know how and why.

Your little bit about needing a lollipop for my booboo might tend to make people think you're just trying to stir up trouble. I don't understand why a person would do that to a group of people who are actively spending time helping him. Please, help me understand.
