Filter wrenches.

I’m talking about a filter with a nut welded on to it. Has nothing to do with dirty seating or not making sure that the old gasket has been removed. However those issues are certainly not good…

I was being theoretical, however if the individual happened to use a hex nut oil filter, hand tightened it correctly, didn't clean the base, noticed it was leaking decided it must be because it wasn't tight enough and proceeded to use a 1/2" ratchet to finish the job.

I use this style (one i have is a little different).

I can set it in place (grip the filter) in tight spots with my fingers, and then put the socket wrench in to loosen it.
