Field Pro Tractor Ignition problems

I have a Field Pro DF354 that wont start with the key. I can jump the starter solenoid and it will run just fine. I checked through the ignition with a meter and it seems to be working properly. I think I have a bad/broken wire though. I was going to just run another wire, but it is hard to tell if the wire goes straight from the ignition to the starter solenoid, or if it goes to a relay or something else, since it is mixed in with a lot of other wires and its about impossible to trace. Can anyone offer some advice on this? Thanks!

I'm going to say you'll need to go through a relay before the solenoid. You will burn up the switch for sure if its not protected (too much voltage).. the other option it to put a bump start on it. Basically a push button the its turned on with the key that goes to a relay and then to the starter..
