While driving my fiat at norm rpm the engine will start reving full for no reason,I can,t slow the engine down and have to shut it off.I wait till it cools a bit start it up and works normal.I never know when it will act up again but it does sooner or later .L have checked the throttle linkage ,,foot petal cable ect all is working fine.Wondering if the injector pump could be my problem.Any ideas guys?

I would check the engine oil level first to see if the hydraulic pumps are not filling the crankcase with oil and causing a runaway condition on the engine. If everything checks out good there, I would say there is something wrong between the injection pump and the governor.
