I have a Festool track guide, I use it with a Makita cordless track saw. I got the Festool guide because it works with the excellent Makita saw. But the Makita guides seem to have quality control issues.

I have had the track saw for over 15 years. Excellent product. I have the Domino 500, finish sander and a 6” Rotax sander. Love all my Festool products. The sander goes through wood like a fat kid to birthday cake.

The Domino was my first 'investment'.
That looks like the best tool they offer, but I know guys that have a number of their tools, and I've yet to hear even one of them complain about them. (other than the price)

I owned/ran my own custom furniture/cabinet shop for many years and back then it probably would have been worth it to buy some of their tools, but not any more...

I’d like to have a domino machine and a track saw. But it’s so expensive my biscuit jointer/mortiser will have to do. I don’t do much cutting where my table saw isn’t suitable so a straight edge and circular saw is good enough.

Ain't nothing a track saw can do that any saw and straight edge will do for 100's less.:drink:

That's true and that's the way I've been doing it for ages...

A track saw does keep you fron screwing up as easily though...

Using it to break down birch plywood sheets that are too heavy for me manage myself on a table saw. Building new cabinets and this will make my life so much easier and I don't need to summon my better half for extra helping hands.
In the same boat can't move the sheets around like I used too. Looked at there track saw and from what i can see it is designed /looks to be one of the best. Agree with what others have said on price, which bring's me to this question, if you had to pay full price, would you do it? thanks

Sort of... except Festool track has a zero clearance track (actually gets cut on first use) and the saw has a retracting riving knife.

I challenge anyone to show me a two things 1) a cleaner cut and 2) less dust!

I hadn't considered it, and absolutely not unless maybe I was using it for a business. But I also did not know how well they work until I started using it. If you are just rough cutting and don't care about the dust, it is surely overkill.

I paid 60 cents on the dollar for barely used... I know I can easily get money back and probably more.

Patents may have expired and more track saws will become available. Dewalt and Kreg have them, not many lumber yards carry them in store.
