Anyone own and/or use Festool? I never thought I would own any because of the crazy price but recently bought a tool and now another and I'm addicted. NOT good. Curious to hear about others experiences? I know what folks will say that haven't tried them because I was there. I will forego further comment for now.

Way overpriced for what they are .:confused2: Their chop saw was one of the worst rated for bearing failure. all a big gimmick designed to work together with their vacume . Good rearsearch you can find much better tools for 1/3 the price.:drink:

spitter, do you have any?

I'm not a fanboy but there are a couple of their tools that I have personally found to be exceptional... especially for contractors that take them on the go.

I have worked with carpenters who whave sworn by them and tried using them side by side with my tools and was not even slightly interested in buying anything but their Domino plate jointer . which tools are you interested in .?:drink:

The Domino was my first 'investment'. My trusty biscuit jointer has to find another home. Far more precision albeit at a price! The indexing feature whether from an edge or from a reference mortise is a beautiful thing. Using one makes you a believer... and I resisted for years.

Can replace biscuits, a mortising machine, dados and the tools associated.

Again, not a fanboy... but I'm enjoying the little plunge into Festool so far.

I admit it is far superior to biscuts but I could never justify the price. I need to many other things first . Like a mini ex or larger tractor.:):drink:

I used to see Festools used on This Old House. Had never heard of them or seen them advertised. For years I thought the green stripe was tape put there to cover a brand name. Finally, I found them online probably, at a Wood Craft site.

I've seen them at a hardware store in Spokane. Looked at the rechargeable drill. But - WoW - the price. I'll stay with the more universal brands.

Festools are definitely intended for the contractor that is on the go. Really nice for site work. The track saw especially. I just picked up a used one on a can't resist deal off of Craigslist. The track does an amazing job and requires no clamps. Just lay it down on your scribe line and cut exactly against it. Zero slip and zero chip out... impressive.

Using it to break down birch plywood sheets that are too heavy for me manage myself on a tablesaw. Building new cabinets and this will make my life so much easier and I don't need to summon my better half for extra helping hands.
