easy to test the hyds on them old fords and fergy with belly pumps.

you disengage pto, runt he hyd handle up, stick a screwdriver thru the pto then spin it by hand.... it works the pump.. thus lifting the 3pt. lets you check leaks and strength...

Thanks for that info and it makes perfect sense also. The I&T shop manual has great pictures of all the parts but must be the condensed version because nobody would ever call it wordy. Heck, only 32 pages for the entire tractor.

No kidding and only a handful of wrenches fit everything. That's why she's down to a skeleton right now. I haven't had this much fun in years.

It was a fun and easy project to remove the hydraulic pump and rebuild it. Parts are readily available. Don't forget the rings on the upper piston as well.

i'm thinking he's NOT talking about the belly pump.. but rather a stinger pump.

Right after I replied I re-read his post and agree with you. Since he didn't answer you I didn't ask him any more questions either.
