Good heavens you should not have to pay that kind of money. There have to be a lot of old 3pt hitch configured 2 row plows around. Pretty much no demand for them anymore as farming on larger scale uses much different tillage and on a small scale they are out of business, only do it as a hobby, or don't deal in equipment any more. At some point in history there had to be more of those "3pt , 2 plow" units around than any other kind. Don't know about Texas but in the east places like WV have a statewide "Market Bulletin" where individuals advertise farm equipment, often older stuff. Tried Craig's List or similar on-line sources?
The new ones and even some restored Ford trip plow on ebay are $1300 and up. It see them in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky they appear to be in good condition and $200 to $300. That Ferguson is down close to Victoria and its $450.

Plow shares were difficult to find. Mine came with deep sink shares - long front tip draws the shares into the ground quickly. Broke one on a rock. I eventually found an Amish person who makes them for more than I paid for the plow, $260 if I remember. I found replaceable shares with close fit on line. It took drilling and countersinking a new hole in one place but back working. In the meantime I bought a King Kutter 2 bottom new - it turned out to be a piece of junk. Ferguson much better but you need to search for, and greet creative on parts.
I have thought about buying a new plow but I don’t think the quality is there compared to the price.

I did find another one craigslist it was $400. The colters were missing and the moldboards and shares looked pretty rough.

It is hard to judge condition from pictures ~~~ but in my opinion a fair price for the plow.

The clinker is your nine hour round trip expense to pick the plow up.
