Fell in love with a toilet seat

I like the ones with slow closing lids and seats.
We don't have all the fancy stuff some have described in this thread, but we do have the ToTo slow closing lids and seats in both bathrooms.🤣 This thread reminds me of a book I had by a fellow who had spent winters in the wilderness of Alaska. He said he'd found the secret to instant comfort in the cold outhouse . . . a styrofoam seat.

Same here, only issue is you get used to it and just drop the lid everywhere you go.
Personally, I think the auto light was pretty cool. Nice subtle glowing light that just comes on so there is no way you can miss the toilet if your standing taking a #1 in the dark😁
We've just got a $1.99 LED nightlight in the bathroom. Does the job.

When our water froze for 10 weeks in 2014, I had to use the resident outhouse about 1/8 mile from my house during this time from Jan - Apr. The girls got the 2x flush quota/day since we hauled water every 2 days from somewhere else.

If there is more than 1 person living in the residence unit, you'd best have 2 bathrooms. Buying that, you will never get them off pot :)

my wife and sister in law can spend 1-2 hrs in the can ... I am regularly finding trees as a result

Anyone else read while they're on the throne? My family always did, wife thinks it's weird.

Nope. I like to spend as little time there as possible. Never could understand folks who treat the event like a relaxing vacation.

You guys are driving me NUTS!!
We JUST upgraded to using toilet paper a few years ago when Sears, Roebuck went out of business.

So, you mean there is something better than toilet paper?? Better than corn cobs??

Yep. A page or two of the National Geographic every day. Been doing that since I was a kid. Why? Because I had a bunch of siblings and that's the only place that was quiet.

We have them as well on the 3rd floor. Funny enough, for whatever reason, my father hates them and his way is to use the very small flashlight I gave him if he wakes up in the night. He's 91, and set in his ways.

That said, if I'm going to spend that kind of money on a toilet seat, kind of stupid not to use that feature isn't it? Personally, I like it. Light doesn't come on until you hit the bathroom area, and instead of giving you dimming light around the toilet, it gives you light IN the toilet so if your standing, less chance of missing your target because the target is lighted LOL, particularly for my dad whose aim isn't what it once was ;)

Depending on the situation at home, I'll spend some time reading, generally when it's late at night. Most of the time, I'm pretty quick about it during the day LOL

What however does drive me bat crap crazy is people who use a public one "stall" bathroom (generally at a gas station) who do seem like they are reading a novel in there. I mean, why spend all that time in a public restroom???

The way I see it, if they can have a uni *** bathroom, on more than one occasion when standing in front of a locked mens door bathroom for what seemed like for more than 5 minutes, I've been known to use the "one stall" woman's bathroom (locked door gets locked of course). Generally in and out within a minute, no matter if it's a one or a two. Hey, if you HAVE to go, go...

Still remember when I was a kid at the Smithsonian...used the bathroom, sitting on the hopper, and all of a sudden I hear women's voices. I learned from that point forward to always check the *** of the bathroom LOL

Had to laugh. I'm 78 and haven't "hit the target" in 5 years. Ha

How does your septic tank like it?

On this subject, the plumbers installed two decent toilets in my house, but it seems the ‘chair height’ setters is the standard these days. They sit 2-3 inches higher than the older style ones. Nice in ways but not so if you have sciatica issues. I had mine swapped out for a shorter one.

Or you are very short with feet dangling like a kid in a handicap stall. I can‘t see many women liking them.

My wife goes to the Loo with her cell phone, and tuned into Market Place ... three purchases later (uggh :( ) she finishes her business.

Never more than 90 seconds to a minute. Once a day, typically just after breakfast. One and done. I do take in a lot of fiber including supplements and so evacuation is complete.

My squatty potty must be on back order.
