Working with my carpenter to remodel 2 bathrooms. We went tile shopping yesterday as well as to choose fixtures and tubs.

Asked if I could use the restroom (in the showroom, done up nice) and I noticed the light that automatically came on inside the toilet.

Pulled my pants down, sat on the seat and I was in love šŸ˜‚

Funny enough, pricing at this local shop was better than I could find anything online.

Look up Toto bathroom seats. Honestly, don't think I'd spend that kind of money for my own bathroom (although I'm kind of tempted), but that heated seat will work wonders for my dad living in the basement.

Heck, there are other lower cost options from what I've seen online per heated bathroom seats, but if you have any elderly parents living with you, I have no doubt they'll love it (my dad keeps the basement between 78F-80F year round).

I know how you feel about that!

My toilet is just right! If we ever move or build a new house, I'm gonna take it with me. 🤣

my wife had back surgery and me not wanting to do the dirty work bought her a ToTo bidet to add on our toilet the heated set is all ways just right and that splash of water when your done with your business is great, we sure do miss it when we go on vacation. Do retired people still get a vacation?

Never used a bidet, how well do they work? Seems to me you'd need some pressure on the stream to get it all, and that doesn't sound very pleasant.

The spray isn't unpleasant at all Oaky but the optional napkin grabber can ruin your day if you absentmindedly hit the wrong button. 🄵

Over $6000 with tax? And my grandfather had one he made for free out of scrap wood with a moon on the door and it was a 2-seater.
Was it a 2 story?

I like the ones with slow closing lids and seats.

Okay, this might be TMI, but during the great TP shortage I decided to look at bidets. I read the reviews on Amazon, and they were over the top great. So, I took a chance and ordered one - the toilet seat kind - about $40. The wife thought it was foolish. Long story short. It came. I installed it and later the wife insisted I get a second one for another bathroom. And then a third one for another bathroom. Later our daughter came to visit and when we visited her months later, we discovered that she had bought two for her home - she said she did so after using ours. A friend came over and asked about it - he ordered two and told me he loves them. Another friend ordered one for his home. I will never be without one - seriously. After all, we're not barbarians.

My employer has them in every restroom I've been in at the main campus. I've got to say on the rare day I go in to the office, I usually freeze due to the low temperature A/C, so taking a break on a heated toilet seat is pretty nice. Getting really clean after typical business is great, too.

At the fixture shop, pretty much everything you need in the seat for less than 1k. But then again, we're getting shower fixtures for two bathrooms as well as 2 toilets and two bath tubs, so hopefully they're being nice to me. That said, may not have had the automatic raising seat, but my father really doesn't need that as you just leave the seat up LOL

Of course you need to run power to the seat as well as water, but the more and more I think about it, that bidet may work wonders for my father.

I already know how this will play out... he'll ***** and complain about us getting him something new, ask how much it was, then flip out and complain that we're spending too much money on him, and then I'll tell him I don't really care because I'm spending HIS money on it, not mine, because I keep telling him he can't take what money he has into the grave with him. He'll get use to the product he didn't want, then love it, then complain if he doesn't have it. I'm kind of impervious to my dad's complaining, my wife takes it more personal and warns me if I become like him, she may have to shoot me LOL She just figures it's because my mom isn't around to keep him in line.

Can you also rinse your teeth on it after brushing?
No, but keep in mind, the water washing your butt is warm, not cold ;)

Personally, I think the auto light was pretty cool. Nice subtle glowing light that just comes on so there is no way you can miss the toilet if your standing taking a #1 in the dark😁 It was kind of funny with me looking at that light (when it came on when I opened the door) with a deer in the headlight look, wondering what amazing thing I was seeing :ROFLMAO:
