Hey guys,

I installed a front end loader on my ym2000 about 1 1/2 months ago and was wondering if a particular trait is normal. When lifting or lowering to full height everything is normal, and even when tilting the bucket downward, nothing unusual happens. When I tilt the bucket from down to up, like when scooping up dirt or such, it lugs the engine, even with the bucket empty. And it just seems weak when compared to the actual lifting capability of the unit as a whole. It doesn't do it bad it is just a noticeable change in engine rpm and I have no idea if this is normal or not. At no other time, whether at idle or higher, does the engine change rpm during "normal" operation of the fel, just when tilting the bucket from down to up. At higher rpm it doesn't happen because of the higher pressure involved I just don't know if it should do it at all.

Another example, when scooping a load of dirt from a packed pile, I can drive into the pile of dirt, but the bucket will not tilt upward to break it from the rest of the pile. I have to lift the entire unit first, then curl the bucket. Any info from will be greatly appreciated and thanks for your time.

Love the Markham toothbar I put on the other day. Great people to do business with and for what it is worth, I highly recommend them to anyone considering this attatchment. It is very well made.

There may be some binding of the bucket but high on my list of things to check is the value assy for lifting/lower/tilting the FEL.

If you have a joystick control, does it feel like there is a spot where the stick hits a "resting" spot but if you push, it goes all the way to a mechanical stop?

If so, try only pushing the control that far and see how it works.

Hey guys,

Sorry it took me so long to get back to the post... I am a relief capt. and work on a lineboat on the western rivers. I am gone a month or more at a time and some places we go are not internet friendly. I will try the suggestion with the joystick and see what happens. The deer in the background is a decoy/practice target for my bow and arrow, and yes, that is concrete in the back wheels. 160 lbs. on each side.(2 bags on each side.) I took the tires off and laid them on the ground. The plastic cover on a 1 gallon can of bondo perfectly covered the center hub area of the rim. (more on that later) Then I covered the entire thing with visquine. There are holes in the rim already so I put 4 pieces of rebar through the holes, punching through the visquine, and into the ground. The top ends of the rebar must be higher than the top of the rim by a few inches. Mixed and poured the concrete. Let it set for a while and then lifted the rebar up and down and around a little to create holes in the concrete to so that I could bolt the 8 dollar apiece 160lb weights to the rim. When it hardened, I flipped the tire and the visquine allowed the cement to slip right out, removed the plastic cover from the center of the inside of the concrete which left a nice hollow area there to allow space for the axle hub and bolts. Remounted the tires and lifted the perfectly formed weights into place and bolted them to the rim. That was, I must admit, a tough thing to do but I was motivated by bragging rights and failure was not an option. The difference in performance made it worth every drop of sweat. They have lasted an entire year so far with minimal cosmetic damage.

don't know how much that concrete weights compaired to water in the tires. But water in the tires may have been a easier task

I live in Minnesota where water in the tires will freeze. If I were to add water should I mix in antifreeze or something?
