Tractor
2012 MF2400
I know this has been discussed before but I haven't been able to get what is a clear answer to me just through a search. This topic has been discussed, but it seems like the conversation is a little older so maybe something has changed.

My 2012 gc2400 has the hydraulics and the joystick for a front end loader (the previous owner had a plow but kept it for a new tractor). I could not afford to buy a loader with it from the dealer right now. They wanted $3400 for a new loader from massey, taking a few hundred off for the pump that I already have.

Are there other options out there for me? I know a used one is mostly out of the question because of how hard they are to find. Do aftermarket companies like Woods and Koyker still make a loader for my tractor and is the price better than Massey (agco)? Is it possible to "fab up" another brand of loader to my tractor? For example, I looked at the sub compacts at Rural King that have TYM FELs. The design is very similar. I did not do any specific measuring, and I can se the bolt patterns for the mounting brackets to the frame are different, but is it out of the question to consider this? I feel like having the pump already provides me with a little flexibility. The RK (TYM) loader is significantly cheaper and the guy said he can easily order one without a pump, making it even cheaper.

I just need some direction/ information so I can start planning to save some money.

Thanks in advance...

A TYM FEL ordered as a stand-alone component will not be significantly less money than a Massey-Ferguson Loader.

The conventional wisdom here is the cheapest way to add an FEL to a tractor is to sell the tractor you have now and buy a new tractor with an factory FEL installed. You may not like the answer, but there it is.

No idea where you are located but some large dealers who handle multiple brands can often figure out something to work for you. Wengers of Myerstown PA did that for me once -- had a different brand FEL on their lot, pointed me to an Amish welding shop nearby that would adapt it to my tractor and I did that. Worked out really well. Finding someone like Wengers to help like that is not easy though.

Knowing that at least I could find a sub compact loader from another manufacturer and potentially make modifications to make it fit is promising. The guy at Rural King gave me a price of $2200. That’s still including a pump so it will be a few hundred less. I know the quality may not be as good as a Massey one but the price difference it’s a big plus. Not some I’m doing yet but just want to start planning.

Try WOODS - they might have a loader. There actually a few MF loaders out there in salvage yards due to floods, etc....

I'd do what I could to find a DL100.
frames on these solid, yeah less lift capacity due to smaller hoses and pump volume on the newer GC17xx series but the frame itself a lot beefier.
plus I can easily unmount/mount of very uneven ground due to way pin/saddle setup while all the GC17xx stuff I deal with (1710,two 1723, a 1725) much more dependent on more even ground.I can have one side 4+ inches lower than other and still the process 4 minutes at most. if on even ground its 2 minuted with most of those being hyd line hookups.
I also deal with an L100 (bigger version) on a MF1732.
its easy.
plus the DL100 made for your unit.
just my opinion.

I bought a really nice Mahindra without a loader several years ago and searched for a long time with no luck for a loader. The main issue is that most used loaders out there do not come with the mounting brackets/system that is unique to the tractor.

I finally went to Westendorf with success and they came from Iowa to Kansas to pick up my tractor and then back to their factory in Iowa where they measured and fitted my Mahindra 3015 with their TA-111 loader with SSQA. They then delivered it back at no charge. The reason they did all this, and for a reasonable price, is that they had never fitted that specific model of tractor and wanted to add it to their list.

I see that they don't list your MF 2400. No idea where you're located as to whether they would be interested in fitting your tractor.

Good to know. Their loader line may be out of the SCUT range.
looked for bunch of massey scuts as well as MF1532 (uses larger L100 same manufacturer) and no luck. prob due to age of those items.
fwiw massey scuts are GC series.
a massey ferguson (MF)2400 is a zero turn mower.
