FEL install and removal

/ FEL install and removal #21
I've never taken just the bucket off the B2400 in 8 years. It looks as if it could be a pain to get off and on. It's much easier to remove the whole loader, just leaving the mounting frame on the tractor. The first time, with manual in hand, will take about 5 minutes. Now, I can do it in about 2 minutes. The only problem I've ever had is when I disconnected the couplings without bleeding the pressure off the lines first. It's one of those things that we all probably do once .... but only once if you're smart.

I always remove the loader to mow the yard with a RFM. After demolishing one of the wife's pecan trees and wiping out a section of fence I found it a lot easier and less painful to do it that way. With the FEL on it is a lot less "nimble" if you are tight spaces or require sharp turns. If you misjudge, the FEL doesn't take many prisoners. You can destroy a lot of stuff even with a little loader.

As an afterthought, removing just the bucket or grapple on the GL4740 with quick attach, makes the whole thing easy and takes about 5 minutes at the most.

By the way, get the loader. As I told a friend, the little loader on the B2400 can only lift about 800 pounds but that's about 700 more than I can lift these days. It may be the most expensive wheelbarrow I ever bought but it's worth every penny.
