I posted this on the Mahindra section but figured I'd try it out here also. Sorry for the double post...

I've posted before that i have a hydro leak on my ML230 front loader on my 3525 where one of the lines goes into the pump. I haven't done anything about it but figure I would try to do it myself without having to haul it in 80 plus miles to get it fixed. It actually looks like it may be just a bad washer. From looking at my manual for the loader the line is a pressure line so it is a screw on at the valve not a quick connect. At the pump it is a screw on also and that is where the leak is coming from. What do I need to do as ar as starting to take the hose off at the pump? Do I need to drain the system completely or can I just unscrew it from the pump and let the fluid run out. Any other advice is greatly appriceated. Thanks.

You might want to try tightening it first. if that doesn't work, take the hose off with 2 wrenches, one on the hose, and one on the fitting. But first have an empty 5 gallon bucket under the pump, to catch the fluid. Also have another nearby, to stick the hose into. Another "but first" is to relieve all hyd pressure, by actuating all of the machine's hyd control levers, once in each direction, after you shut down the motor. A lot of pumps use a double male adapter fitting, that screws into the pump on the pressure side, and does have an o-ring between this fitting and the pump. They get old, hard and sometimes crack.
