What are my options for this tractor? The JD FEL is horrendously expensive, if you can find one. Is there any other model/brand that can be attached or modified for the 748?

What kind of price have you been given for the 45 fel?

I'm thinking that the LS72 would be a better fit for the X748. It's intended for a sub-compact, while the LS102 is for a compact tractor.

The X748 has more in common with a SCUT than a CUT, I'd say.

Also, for what it's worth, I actually called two Woods dealers about putting the LS72 on a John Deere 2210, and was quoted the same price by both: $3600 installed. I think it was $2800 for the loader, $400 labor to install it, and $400 in freight. That's all in US dollars.

I can get the John Deere 200CX loader for less than that, so I never seriously considered the Woods loader. I figure I might as well get the OEM loader if it's cheaper anyway :)

Around 4k cdn new.

I think I would pass on it at that price.

I should also point out that the x748 has <1000psi hydraulics, so that any loaders you consider need to be derated accordingly.

I have a John Deere FEL for my X728 and use it all year long, it was originally on X485. I just recently rebuilt a bank along a river and moved 30 tons of rock. It was by far one of the best investments I have made for this tractor. Best of luck with your decision.

Superduty, I see in your pic that you have yours on with a cab. Do you remove the uprights on top of the loader mast to take the loader off, or just leave the loader on. Seemed like there was not enough room to remove with the cab frame in the way. Just curious, the friend I have with one just cut em off with a torch and mounted a lower side to side support so he could take off with a cab.

I didn't need to remove uprights, it's a close fit with Curtis cab. I enclosed a couple of pictures. 100_4320.JPG
