This is a boom pole with a basket on the end of it. I welded it together to help trim the tree lines. Its attached to the FEL by means of the FEL pallet forks. The forks are rated at 3500 pounds, so I don't have to worry about them bending or snapping off. I'm not completely done with the basket yet. I still need to weld some more square tubing in the middle of the basket. Just incase someone slips, they don't fall out of the basket. I also need to add more support brakets to the end fingers. The way I have it set up, I can remove the basket from the boom pole. The swing bracket will always stay connected to the basket. The end of the boom pole is some what like a reciever hitch. The total height I can get is about 23 feet. But I don't plan on going any higher then 20 feet. I do have the tires filled and have had 120 pounds in the basket raised up to 20 foot so far. FEL was stabble, but I need to add some support to the FEL pallet forks. I do plan on using more ballast weight to the rear end of the tractor (the more weight I add to the basket).

You are nuts. I'm sorry but even if you had perfect welding and design, tractor hydraulics do not have the safety valves for a burst hydraulic hose or failed pressure relief etc.

DON'T PUT A PERSON UP IN THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awe shucks, I would ride in it. How fast does a loader drop if a hose does bust. Might be a fun ride depending..

It is a great idea but I don't think I would want to be the one in the bucket.

Very interesting 'contraption' and could provide for some very daring 'experience' for whoever is in the 'basket'. One would have to have a lot of trust in the welds, in the hydraulics as mentioned, and in the tractor driver who is activating the controls. The tiniest move on the control lever will be a huge move in the basket, as well as moving the tractor relative to the basket. But it's your pleasure, IMO.
It looks a bit frail to me. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
